Watcher: Here’s the interior of the cooking tent, modified for six contestants instead of eight.
Each cooking station got an extra counter and, just for today, a waffle iron. The fridges and dishwashers were rearranged to make room for two Baker’s Cousin Display Cases (which I love to use for toddlers). What’s great about these cases is that I can move an dish, made by my sims or other sims, into a case. It helps me keep track of which Cook made what and whether Irene and Tae need to prepare more food to feed everyone.
Tae: This morning, I remember that my L7 Research & Debate skill gives me a “Convince to…Clean” social, so I try it on both Honey and Ollie. Honey accepts but Olie's option is grayed out and he asks me not to be “overbearing,” I guess a Neat sim doesn't need convincing?
Honey and Ollie diligently clean whenever that’s their assigned task. I never bothered to repeat the Convince to Clean social. Those two are that good! I don’t think that social would’ve worked on Wolife, because was so obsessed with cooking. Anyway, that's my staffing issue solved!
Four of our six Cooks have breakfast, while Ollie waits patiently for another empty plate. I really need a Praise Staff social to let Honey and Ollie know how much I appreciate them! (Thanks to MC Dresser, the Cooks are wearing their custom outfits.)
When it’s time, Jace races to prepare a dish. He finishes preparing a one-serving Fried Chicken Slider at exactly 10:42 am. Will that lift him from the bottom of the pile?
I’d never imagined Jace would be the first to go! Now I wonder: is the cooking progress calculated at the end of the day prior to the elimination? Or does anything prepared once the 10 am Cooking period starts but before the 11 am cut-off time count? We'll all miss you, Jace!
Cebolla and Carly, looking pretty in pink. I wonder what they’ll do next.
Cebolla grabs the mixing bowl that Jace left behind at his elimination. She takes it to a cooking station to prepare a Taco Casserole. Around this time, I decide to ditch the waffle irons; everyone adds ingredients to them but forgets to collect the waffles.
I decide the Cooks would benefit from a Moodlet Booster family meal, so I try to create one. Pro Tip: This getaway venue's fridges can't be used to create a Family Recipe. If you want to prepare Family Recipes, create them at home first. Lesson learned for my next getaway!
It’s around 1:30 pm and Carly, who only cooked one dish yesterday, is on fire today! She’s now preparing her third dish of the day, while Rowan cooks his second dish.
I’m quite surprised how motivated all the Cooks are. It’s 4:30 pm and, while chatting with Ollie, Cebolla skips dining with everyone else to finish the dish she’d started during the Cooking period (10am-4pm). Go, Cebolla! (Do dishes completed after 4 pm still count?)
Once our evening Self-Care period begins, I check my roomie Ollie’s whereabouts then slip into our bedroom to read to my cocoon. Yes, level 4 Entomology!
Tomorrow, I’m hoping to follow Irene and Honey around to see how they’re spending their days.
