Chiyo and I arrive at 11 am, surprised to see Irene plus 11 other sims that I’d definitely NOT chosen as Chef, Mean Chef, Staff, or contestants. Watcher immediately makes everyone leave, even Irene. No, not now, Pruella!
Chef Irene is the first to arrive. By 1:30 pm–90 minutes after the cook-off’s official start, Chiyo is still standing out front and the others haven’t arrived, so I invite them all to the venue.
While aiting for the others to arrive, I post our daily schedule. It's the preset Cooking Competition schedule with only a few changes in the activities.
It takes another hour for everyone to arrive. Mia, would you mind not cooking at our judges’ table? Irene and I are wearing the default Chef and Mean Chef outfits, respectively. I’d created custom outfits for the staff and contestants, but nobody’s wearing them. #sadness
Now that everyone's here, allow me to explain the rules and settings of this cooking competition. Any questions?
Last to arrive, Kristen heads straight to one of the six cooking stations to prepare a dish.
Here’s a good shot of everyone except Kristen. Soon after, Carly loses interest in what she’s mixing and drops her bowl on the floor.
Cebolla’s started cooking something, which is great. Instead of cleaning staff member Wolfie has been cooking non-stop ever since he stepped foot in the venue, which is not helpful. It's not as if he can't clean; there are six wastebaskets, 4 dishwashers, six kitchen sinks, and two trashcans.
Wolfie finishes his Mac and Cheese dish and is about to grab ingredients for his next dish from the fridge, when I show up and ask him to clean. He’s staff and needs to free up the cooking stations for the Cooks, right?
Oh look! There’s Jace coming out of his bedroom in the right outfit! But why hasn’t he cooked anything yet?
After Watcher picks up Carly’s bowl and puts it on a counter, Kristen hurries over to finish the dish. It will be tagged “Made by Kristen Yrsa” and counts toward her score. I’m back by the fridges with Rowan. Behind Kristen, Wolfie has started cooking again. Aarrgh!
Rowan is really in it to win it! While I’m trying to convince Wolfie to clean, Rowan swoops by, snatches Wolfie’s half-done Eggs & Toast, then cooks up the dish himself. Very sneaky, Rowan!
By the way, I spotted Honey cleaning once, but she seems to be avoiding me today. Very wise, Honey!
Wolfie: What can I say, Tae? I don’t want to be Staff! I really want to be one of the Cooks!
Tae: But I already have six Cooks and six cooking stations, Wolfie. We need Staff to help with cleanup and repairing any broken appliances.
Wolfie: Yeah, I understand what's needed, but I haven't taken orders for a long time. If I can't be a Cook, you'll have to replace me. No hard feelings? Tae: I wish you're reconsider. It's only five more days, Wolfie. Irene's gonna be really disappointed, but okay.
Tae (on phone): Hey, Ollie! You aged up with the Neat trait, right?
Ollie: Yeah, what’s up?
Tae: How’d you like to help out with a cooking competition, starting right now?
Tae: Irene, I know you and Wolfie are newlyweds so I’m really sorry I had to replace him.
Irene: Staff not cleaning is probably a glitch, but Wolfie wasn’t smart about it, cooking one dish after another in front of everyone. (Why couldn’t he just avoid the Mean Chef like Honey seems to be doing?)
Tae: Well, we no longer need separate bedrooms for judges and staff. I’ve assigned you to a bed in Honey’s room and Ollie will be rooming with me.
Day 1 Results (from noon to 8 pm)
All cooked meals were excellent quality.

Watcher's Notes: *The cut-off for tomorrow’s elimination is 11 am, so Cooks have a little time for catch-up cooking!
*Apologies for the poor lighting in the screenshots, but the indoor lighting didn't come on until after 9 pm. I wish in-game lighting would come on when it goes dark outside, not at some arbitrary time decided by the game. 🫤
