Thu, Fall 13 (Apr 18)
Tae: Wow, we’ve already reached Day 4 of this getaway! I start the morning by gathering the Singles in the kitchen, hoping I could ask them to cook breakfast with me. But I couldn’t get the Cook Together thing to work, darn it. (I was never able to choose a recipe.)
Like yesterday, we have breakfast in the outdoor dining area, but the hour leading up to the elimination is fraught with tension. The usually chatty Singles look pensive.
When the clock strikes 11, Valentina is sent home in an elimination that surprises no one. Her proposal yesterday really hit the nail on the coffin. Did she really think I’d want to marry someone who’s barely a friend? Wishing you a good life, Valentina (but not with me)!
For the three of you, today’s Friendly phase is all about cooking, an activity very near and dear to my heart. With my Fresh Chef trait, I’m not seeking a partner to do most of the cooking. But I do enjoy the company of sims who appreciate good food.
Yesterday, you earned Flirtatious socials from me by pet interactions. Over the next six hours, you’ll earn one Physical Intimacy social from me each time you (1) complete a dish, (2) have a food-related thought, or (3) clean this cooking area.
Here are your cooking stations. Listen, I have to go take care of something real quick, so please get started without me.
Hyunjin: Are you okay, Tae? You must be sad about Valentina leaving.
Tae: No, I’m not sad. I’m fine and will be back soon.
Tae (furious): Stop right there, Valentina! Talking smack to me right before getting eliminated then walking out is not okay!
Valentina: What do you care? If you hadn’t shot down my proposal, I could’ve won this competition.
Tae: Unlikely! If you knew me at all, you’d know I value friendship as much, if not more, than romance. May our paths never cross again! *breaks up with Valentina
Valentina: Oh no, you di’int!
Tae: Thanks for the first break-up milestone, I guess. (And now, I’m no longer enraged!)
In the backyard, I find Vivi and Hyunjin already starting to cook, while Alejandro heads with a cutting board toward the back cooking station. Honestly, I hope they don’t earn too many favors. Besides the First Kisses, I’ve stuck to Flirtatious socials so far.
Good grief! Hyunjin snatches Alejandro’s mixing bowl and takes credit for the resulting cake, while Vivi grabs Hyunjin’s pan and cooks his Eggs & Toast. Why are they being so cutthroat over cooking? I let the back-stabbing slide during my Cook-Off but this competition is about finding my ideal partner!
Alejandro: Hey, go back to your cooking stations. I came back to this one in back to get away from you thieves!
When Vivi pauses for a culinary thought, Hyunjin takes her bowl to cook her dish himself. That’s not a good look for you, Hyunjin!
Alejandro isn’t that focused on cooking. He keeps running over to me for a hug or a kiss. When I spot Vivi walk behind a wall where nobody else can see her, I follow her to give her an autonomous smooch.

Hyunjin (eagerly): So, how did we do?
Tae: Honestly, I’m not impressed with snatching someone else’s half-done dish to boost one’s score, so I’m not counting any dish not completely prepared by the same person.

Tae: I give each Single the same three Physical Intimacy socials: Embrace, Kiss Hands, and Offer Massage.Vivi and Alejandro get a fourth social: Caress Cheek. Yes, I am obviously very stingy with Physical Intimacy.
Hyunjin (scowls): It stinks that I worked so hard but two of my dishes didn’t count! You let it slide for your Cook-Off!
Tae: Yes, but I wasn't seeking a long-term partner with that Cook-Off. You don't value creative integrity, Hyunjin?
Tae: Everyone opts to watch TV instead of soak in the hot tub, so I want to watch the Dating Reality Show together and tell them about Papa Caleb. Instead, Vivi and Hyunjin keep switching back to the static channel until Vivi runs away terrified and Hyunjin passes out.
First thing this morning, I was able to ask Alejandro to become best friends but, by 8pm, that option never pops up for me with Hyunjin or Vivi. As I’ve said before, friendship might not count for this competition, but it matterrs to me.
Not much change happened today. Alejandro reached BFF status and Vivi changed from zero relationship dynamic to Steamy (thanks to the Physical Intimacy socials).

Watcher’s Notes
*The pet-interactions-earn-romance system worked well due to the short interactions. It didn’t work as well with cooking, but Tae did learn that all three Singles could cook. Hyunjin and Alejandro even produced one Excellent dish each, despite starting close to L1 Cooking.
*I had trouble with this getaway that never happened with the previous Cook-Off. For Day 4 (this post), I reloaded my save on two occasions where no elimination took place at 11 am. In both cases, I had to return to an earlier save and lost hours of gameplay. For this reason, I've already played though the Day 5 elimination.
