Bachelor Challenge - Day 3

 Thu, Fall 12 (Apr 17)

We all enjoy breakfast at the outdoor dining area this morning. The Singles wouldn’t touch the Khoa Miao Mamuang (Mango Sticky Rice) dish prepared by the Staff, so I served Butter Chicken that I’d made at home (my food never spoils). As it nears the elimination time, everyone goes quiet.

Oh no, it’s Roseanne! She’s such a lovely person, too. Honestly, a romantic competition does no favors for an Unflirty sim. And the opposite is true for Romantic and Lovebug sims. So sorry to see you go, Roseanne!

Vivi: What are our Friendly phase activities for today, Tae?

Tae: Love me, love my pets! I’ve summoned my pets here for this afternoon. I’d mentioned that I wouldn’t be initiating romantic socials anymore, except autonomously. But today, every time you interact with one of my pets from now until 5 pm, you’ll earn one Flirtatious social from me.

Your activities for this phase are Be Friendly/Flirty, and Play with Pets

Valentina: But isn’t this a romance competition?

Tae: Yes, but I could never live with someone who doesn’t enjoy being around my pets!

Valentine: Huh. Well, let me give you a lesson in being romantic, baby boy. *proposes marriage

Tae: No way! *their romance become Strained

Watcher: Strange! I disabled Autonomous Proposals, but I guess that was meant to happen.

Tae: So far, Hyunjin, Vivi, and Alejandro have all introduced themselves to Mia. I’m keeping score on who interacts with which pet. *flirts one time with each of the trio

Vivi introduces herself to Sasuke and plays with him three times, earning herself four more flirts. Meanwhile, Valentina continues to ignore the pets. Folks probably think this is a stupid idea for a romance competition, but I’m looking for someone who’s more than only a master of seduction, y’know?

For some reason, Mia’s getting all the attention. Why isn’t anyone interacting with Kali?

Kali: I can explain that! Whenever a Single finishes interacting with Mama Mia, she moves in front of the next Single and cries until they give her some attention. On the other paw, some of us still retain our feline dignity!

Looks like Mia has Hyunjin wrapped around her little…paw.

Since Zorro’s being neglected, I grab a laser pointer and play with him. I never knew that the pointer tip turns into a heart when I’m Very Flirty. Aaaaand, I just turned this post about my Bachelor Challenge into pet spam.  😏

Once the Friendly phase ends at 5 pm as Alejandro introduces himself to Sasuke, I discover I can’t simply “Send Home” my pets. While I quickly switch households so Chiyo can summon them home, you can look at how many times each Single interacted with a pet.
*Alejandro (6): Mia x5, Sasuke x1

*Hyunjin (6): Mia x6

*Vivi (10): Mia x5, Sasuke x5

*Valentina (4): Kali x1, Mia x3

After dinner, tonight’s Mix & Mingle activities are: Be Romantic, Stargazing, and Use Hot Tub. But I’m busy “repaying” pet interactions with Flirtatious socials and forget all about stargazing. My flirting triggers more flirting, resulting in Alejandro and I autonomously exchanging shoulder massages.

Vivi came out on top with 10 pet interactions, meaning I flirted with her 10 times. But my Elimination Criterion is the Lowest Score Loses so, if I’m understanding the two Elimination Criteria choices correctly, the competition only counts the gain in romantic relationship for each day. Tomorrow morning, everyone’s score will start as a blank slate.

There’s something odd about how often I self-discover a new personality trait while interacting with Hyunjin. Me, a Lovebug? Definitely not! Can you imagine me with a happy grin, making hand-hearts here and there? That’s so very Juwon…and so very not me. I wonder how Juwon’s doing.

At 1 am, the five of us lift our prune-like bodies from the hot tub and leave for our assigned beds. Here’s what my club panel looks like as we all head indoors.

*I did not actively socialize (friendly or romantic) with the Singles at all today, except for the Flirtatious socials they “earned” by pet interactions.

*Valentina’s friendship is significantly lower than the other Singles. Our Strained dynamic means less success with friendly and romantic socials, but she’s never been that focused on friendship from the start.

Relationship Status, Dynamic, and Attraction (in alphabetical order)
Alejandro: Good Friends/Soulmates; Steamy; Attraction: both Neutral

Hyunjin: Good Friends/Soulmates; none; Tae→Hyunjin: Attracted, Hyunjin→Tae: Very Attracted

Valentina: Acquaintances/Lovers; Strained; Attraction: both Neutral

Vivi: Good Friends/Soulmates; none; Tae→Vivi: Neutral, Vivi→Tae: Very Attracted

Watcher’s Notes:
*My apologies if Tae's Bachelor Challenge isn't turning out as romantic as you'd like. I'm already tired of watching them just flirting and want to think up other ways that Tae could see how the Singles would fit with his lifestyle, starting with whether they're good with pets. What else matters to Tae? We're still thinking about that. *If Tae self-discovers the Romantic or Love Bug trait again, do you think he should accept whichever one comes first?
*Even though I’d disabled “Autonomous Proposals” in MCCC, I discovered that Valentina could propose to Tae anyway because I’d also enabled the game’s Gameplay setting “Allow Romantic Invites and Requests.” Since Tae isn’t planning to marry until June, I almost disabled “Allow Romantics Invites and Requests.” To be fair to Valentina, however, I should at least keep it enabled until the end of Tae’s getaway.
