Bachelor Challenge - Day 2

Tae: Before we start, I’d like to share my competition setup.

*Elimination criterion: Lowest (daily) progress (in romantic relationship) loses 

*Rule/No Strings Attached: Sims don’t get jealous at the getaway venue
*Buff/Love Is in the Air: Romantic relationships grow faster and decay slower than usual
*Schedule: default Enjoy the Outdoors phase (11am-5pm) changed to Be Friendly phase

My schedule keeps the same hours as the default Romance Competition with some tweaks.

Friendly phase → Singles/Be Friendly/Flirty + new activity that varies daily; Host/Be Friendly/Flirty + same activity as Singles
Mix and Mingle phase → Singles/Host/Be Romantic + other activities that vary daily

I’m awake before the Breakfast phase, so I gather the Singles in the indoor dining room so we can share a meal together. Does everyone stay in their sleepwear until the next phase starts?
By the way, Hyunjin got a small makeover, only a new hairstyle and a little blush. I like it!

Tae: Nobody’s surprised when the 11 am elimination sends Bernardo home.

Bernardo: Eh, Tae wasn't into me and the feeling was mutual. I’m a Competitive sim, but I’ve never had to compete for a love interest and I’m not about to start now. I have better things to do with my time.

Hyunjin: Today’s new Friendly activity is Play Physical Games, so we're trying to play foosball.

Roseanne: Where’s Alejandro? I want him to be my foosball partner!

Valentina: Stop being a busybody and come back to play.

Tae: My Friendly activities usually match the Singles', but I have a goal in mind so I'm only being friendly and romantic today. To boost romantic relationships, I’ll give each Single a First Kiss then ask to be Romantic Partners. I start with Alejandro because he already had the Romantic Partners option yesterday. After we’re partners, he shows me his tattoo and I approve! (No, Carly, I’m not introducing you to Alejandro until much later! If has a brother, maybe we can double-date?)

Next is Hyunjin because he was the first to share his attraction to me. After our First Kiss, I self-discover that I’m Romantic. And after we become partners, I self-discover that I’m Loyal. Obviously, I decline both personality traits. It’s a particularly bad time to become Loyal!

Next is Valentina who was the first to arrive yesterday. Our First Kiss alone maxes out our Romance bar. Is that because she’s Romantic? We take a selfie together to commemorate becoming partners, then Hyunjin walks up.

Noooo! Hyunjin has been “thinking about this a lot”!? I only asked him to be partners, like, 15 minutes ago. His timing is the worst! Why would I choose to live together with anyone in the middle of this getaway? I don’t want our relationship to drop, though, so I tell him I’d love that but later cancel the Move-In menu. *sighs

With Vivi, a First Kiss followed by becoming romantic partners is a smooth process. She’s also Very Attracted to me but, fortunately, doesn't ask me about living together.

I save Roseanne for last because I imagine her Unflirty trait would demand more effort on my part. Alejandro was ready to become partners before a First Kiss and I could ask the other Singles right after a First Kiss, but not Roseanne. After romancing her for another 20 minutes, though, I’m able to ask her. (Does a sim ever refuse a request to become romantic partners?)

Yesterday’s Mix & Mingle phase was Be Romantic and Use Hot Tub. Since the Singles include two Music Lovers and two Dance Machines, I replace Use Hot Tub with Music (dance floor, DJ booth, musical instruments, etc.) plus Wear Costumes from the Costume Trunk.

Valentina (knight) and Roseanne (Britechester’s dragon mascot) pick unflattering costumes. I’m not sure how I feel about being smooched by Hyunjin dressed as Foxbury’s lobster mascot.

That’s me in the Firefighter costume. (Yes, Irene, I’m also very disappointed I couldn’t choose the shirtless version). I try to tell Watcher that this group dance does nothing to boost romantic relationships, but Watcher ignores me because she's too busy laughing. I mean, it’s not that funny!

Alejandro: Do you mind giving us a little privacy, Roseanne? Tae’s offering me a dance.

Roseanne: Why you? Why didn’t he offer me a dance?
Alejandro: Obviously, I make a hot butler. And you? No offense but maybe pick another costume next time.

Alejandro: Have you stayed in that same post since I was chatting with Roseanne?
Tae: Nope, new thought bubble. Duh!
Watcher’s note: Curiously, Tae had that Flexed-Bicep thought bubble before First Kissing Alejandro. With the other four Singles, Tae had the usual Rose-in-Lips thought bubble.

Here are the Day 2 results for our remaining Singles. You can see that the First Kiss and romantic partnerships boosted all of their Romance bars to become Tae’s Sweethearts. Vivi has the highest Friendship, which this competition ignores. The elimination only looks at which Single made the least daily progress in their romantic relationship with Tae. Will Hyunjin’s live-together question prove to be a fatal mistake?

Watcher's Note:
On Days 1 and 2, Tae has been initiating Friendly, Flirty, and Romantic socials with the Singles, focusing especially on Romantic social this afternoon. For the rest of the getaway, I'm planning to not control Tae at all, except when gathering the Group for meals or other group activities.
