Sasuke the Socializer

Spring 13, Friday (Mar 11)

Today, Heart & Soul opens from 9 am to 3 pm, and everything goes nearly to plan. Romeo teaches a class while Juwon and I offer paid mentoring to class students and non-student customers. It’s our best day for retail sales (even with only one class), but the worst for gaining renown. We need a new business model that won’t mean longer business hours!


Tae: When arriving at Masked Sweets with Juwon and Sasuke, I find a sick Ringtail. Good thing we bought 20+ Wellness Treats at the vet clinic the other day. Awww, Ringtail runs off as soon as he’s cured. Ringtail, come back!

Juwon: On the left is Masked Sweet’s new teen employee, Freya Loden from Gammelvik. Looks like she’s using the dishwasher while Irene is preparing something on the counter behind the barista bar.

Watcher: But I built a kitchen for Irene, complete with a stand bowl, cupcake factory, and candy maker. Why doesn’t Irene ever go there to cook?

Tae: Look, Watcher. There’s already a waffle iron and oven behind the barista bar. But does Irene get ingredients from her home fridge upstairs?
Watcher: Hmmm, what if I delete that stove and move the waffle iron to the other kitchen? 

Juwon: This is Cairo Brown. Cairo and her twin sister Ami (who lives with Carly) share the same parents as Em and Truffle: Louie and Maple. Cairo’s a mini-Maple, yeah?

Tae: Sasuke meets Cairo who comes with him later when he meets Louie for the first time. Sasuke looks a bit intimidated by Louie. Don’t worry, Louie, Sasuke has no designs on any of your daughters!

Sasuke: This is the best day EVER! I meet Ami’s mama Carly who gives me some love. She has magic hands!

Then Irene comes over to play with me. Irene really knows how to have fun! Tae and Juwon, are you taking notes?

Finally, I meet Cebolla, who's been busy staffing the barista bar tonight. She talks to me about…izzat a Voidcritter Battle Station? Doesn’t she know my paws can’t handle those controls? On the other hand, I’m a champ when it comes to chewing up Voidcritter Cards!

Sasuke: When Tae says we’re going home (even though I never get to meet Ringtail who keeps running away from me), I go to tell Juwon. What the heck? He’s researching romance tips on a computer? That boy–Juwon’s cute but he got no game!

Tae: The last thing Juwon and I do before going to bed is prepare free food offerings for tomorrow’s customers. Uh, work smarter, not longer?
