Spring 4, Thu (Mar 5)

Tae: Juwon thinks I haven’t noticed how he goes gaga whenever he meets any of our friends’ pets. I’ve been wanting a dog for a while now, but I’m curious how Juwon will ask me for a pet.
For now, I’m making like a Boy Scout and learning the Veterinarian skill.Be prepared!

It’s still morning when I make a quick trip to Sixam. I don’t ind my sixth (and last) Geode but I bring home a Tentacle Tree cutting, so I consider the trip worthwhile.

Today, I ask Honey to start a Pet Training class. After 7 minutes, she takes a lecturing break for an hour but that’s no problem. I only need a bronze medal for this class and I’m already there. Still, I’m relieved when she resumes her lecture, since I really want to learn the skill she’s teaching. I’m happy that Juwon’s also sitting in on Honey’s class!

This is the second time I fail to complete the “Make a New Friend” class goal.

Yesterday, the goal didn’t complete even after I befriended J Huntington III.Today, I befriend Grand Duchess Cordelia Abrantes, but the goal remains incomplete. You know, I didn’t even realize she was royalty at first; I’d thought that Summer (Holiday) Greenburg dramatically upped her fashion game.

Juwon: Tae, isn’t that Kaori Nishidake’s grandmother?

Tae: Oh no! Kaori and her grandpa Shigeru will be horrified to see her stroll by in that outfit!

Watcher: Darn it, how did I not notice that before? I’ll fix it…

Tae: Please take care of it while we’re sleeping, Watcher. The days pass quickly enough as it is.

Tae: Thanks for teaching us about Pet Training!
Honey: I’m so glad you earned a silver medal for my class! And don’t forget, I offer paid mentoring, too.
Tae: I’ll be back for that later!

It’s just past six so I rush home to open Heart & Soul.

For a change, I replace six of the “classroom chairs” with standing mirrors.
And as soon as three customers arrive, I start a Charisma class.

The attendees are Thomas Watson, Jade (Rosa) Benali, and my former prof Serena Bharma.

Two more soon join the class. First, Anaya Jang from San Myshuno, followed by Romeo Monty. I’m surprised Romeo travelled from Bellacorde, Ondarion, to attend my class.

I go looking for my first three class attendees who I haven’t seen for a while. Why they choose to spend hours in the restroom is beyond me. Also, I have to break up a fight between the Serena and Jade, surely started by the hot-headed Serena.

I was only planning to open Heart & Soul for long enough to earn a renown level, but my Charisma class earns a gold star. Anaya Jang gives me the sweetest compliment and totally makes my day.

Just as I’m about to close, I spot Jade thinking about buying a flower arrangement. Yes, do it! As soon as I hear the ka-ching, Heart & Soul shuts its door for business..

Heart & Soul has become a Hopeful Hustle! I earn two small business perks, which I’m saving for when my studio becomes a Striving Startup. I’m aiming to buy the Going Viral perk for 3 points. I’m hoping the Going Viral perk will help me gain renown faster.

Tomorrow, I'm leaving Heart & Soul closed all day and not taking any classes either. Juwon and I have some friends to visit!

Watcher’s note: 

I read online yesterday that the UI Cheats Extension mod could interfere with employees performing their assigned tasks. I’m not sure if that’s the case with Juwon, but I’ll try opening Heart & Soul with that mod installed next time.
