Dirk the Jerk

Winter, Wednesday (Feb 16)

As in the past two seasons, I schedule a holiday with the Gnome tradition for the my first free day of the first week. Look at all my gnomes! I confess that I’ve cut myself some slack. Since the gnomes aren’t an official collection, if a duplicate gnome arrives for the holiday, I allow myself to replace it with one I don’t have yet. After appeasing all the gnomes, I put them in storage; I don’t need their seed packets. 

Tonight’s objective is to resurrect a ghost by convincing them to buy Ambrosia from my food stand. Once night falls, I head over to Willow Creek’s Duplantier Dwelling, the home to a household of five ghosts (“The Ghostly Gang,” created by WaywardGoomba).

I socialize with all of them and add them to my newly-created club, Ghosts. Yes, I know. It’s an outrageously creative name for a club! Thanks, Watcher!

Tonight is Ghosts Night at bars everywhere in our simverse, so I choose Izakaya Ippai, conveniently located adjacent to my home lot. I spot four ghosts, Felix Psyded from Britechester and three ghosts from Ravenwood. I’d hate to revive members of the Ravenwood’s Order of Lenore, so I set my sights on Felix.  Good man, come outside to my food stand!

Of all the times aOf all the times and places to seek attention, that celebrity Dirk Dreamer decides to incite cheers right in front of my food stand. Look at Felix! He’s completely forgotten why he even came outside! However, I'm in it to win it, so I go back into the bar and introduce myself to the three Ravenwood ghosts.

I succeed in getting all three Ravenwood ghosts to peruse my wares, but then Dirk the Jerk starts up again. Begone, you self-absorbed, insensitive…Ugh! *sends Dirk home

The ghostly gangsters from Willow Creek show up and three of them gather around to peruse my wares. I just can’t convince them to buy Ambrosia.Window-shopping teases, that’s what you are!

I have really high hopes that this Ravenwood ghost might buy an Ambrosia serving. Instead, that woman in the green blouse buys one of my four Ambrosia then walks off to eat it! Nooooooo! Doesn’t she realize Potions of Youth don’t grow on trees!?

When the green-blouse sim sits down, placing the Ambrosia on the table in front of her, Watcher quickly snatches it back and puts it in my inventory. Time for a new plan! I gift the returned Ambrosia to Fabiano Rossi, who's one of the ghostly gangsters. I'd hoped he'd open his gift and eat the Ambrosia. Nope, that didn’t happen.

Just as I end the sale and start planning my new strategy for tomorrow, I get a consolation prize: an acheevo for hosting 50 social events at Bronze level or higher. Huh, who knew that sales using a vendor table or food stand counted as social events?
Anyway, I’m hoping the new strat for tomorrow works out.
