Second Fiddle

Winter, Monday (Feb 21)

Tae: I know you’ve never cooked before, but how about we make breakfast together?

Juwon: Wow, I never realized that cooking could be so inspiring and fun. No wonder you love it!
Tae: And we prepared 12 servings together. Good job.

Juwon: What’s that book over there? A cookbook?

Tae: Yes, that’s Grammie’s Family Recipes cook.

Juwon: That’s so cool that your grandma left you her cookbook.

Tae: Uh, no. It’s just the cookbook’s name. Apparently, I’ve learned six Special Touches so far, but I’m waiting until next season to create some family recipes.

Tae: This tastes marvelous, Juwon! You might be a natural. Let’s cook together more often!

Juwon: I’d love that! But you invited me over this morning because you had news for me?

Tae: Yes, three bits of news, in fact. Which do you want to hear first, the good or the bas?

Juwon: Hit me with bad news first, please. *sighs

Tae: Okay. I’m leaving Mt. Komorebi and moving to Nordhaven this coming Sunday.

Juwon: So soon!? And where’s Nordhaven, exactly?

Tae: It’s northwest of here. Flying from here to Nordhaven typically takes 12-14 hours.

Juwon: We’ll be so far apart!

Tae: Don’t forget I have good news, too. Remember I explained I have a Watcher? Well, she consulted the Big Boss (Honey’s Watcher) about you coming with me and she okay’ed it. If you want, you can come live with me in Nordhaven.

Juwon: Really? That’s…I…I don’t know what to say.

Tae: Say yes! As soon as I move to Nordhaven, I’ll ask you to be my roommate. 

Juwon: Your r-r-r-r-roommate? May I think it over? (Being Tae’s roommate wouldn't be my first choice but it’s better than being left behind, isn’t it?)

Tae: I have more good news about my club, The Sizzle Squad. I had to ask you to leave to make room for Kristen. But I have room for you to join now. Whaddya say?

Juwon: Yay!

If you haven’t already guessed, I’m focusing my last week in Mt. Komorebi on my collections. Today, I’m off to the Forgotten Grotto in Desert Bloom Park.

Juwon: What, more fishing?! With a name like Forgotten Grotto, I’d imagined that Tae was taking me on a romantic getaway. Will I never learn?

Tae: I came here to catch an Anglerfish and a Wolf Eel but I’m having no luck. I’ll need to stockpile more bait first, I guess.  Giving Juwon that violin was the best idea ever. He pulls it out whenever I’m busy collecting. Hmmm, did he lose the guitar I gave him?

Juwon: Once again, I’m playing second fiddle to Tae’s collections.  *sighs
