Tae’s Nordhaven Lot

Winter (Feb 23)

Tae’s Watcher here! I’m trying to finish February on Sim-Saturday so Tae can move to Nordhaven on the first Sunday of spring.  Not much for Tae to do these days, though, so this post is all about his new Nordhaven lot.  The yard and landscaping are still a work in progress.

A front view of Tae’s new home and small business on Iverstad’s Lighthouse Outlook lot. They use the same roof material and color as Crispin Black’s home. I’m done building but still decorating a little. Trying for the Scandi style (a blend of Scandinavian decor and Japanese aesthetics) but struggling with the neutral palette. The gardens look more Japanese than Scandi, but I’m not mad.

A bird’s eye view of the house, which occupies the east half of the 50x40 lot (front/south of lot on the left). There's a second bedroom upstairs.

I’m fully furnishing both buildings to upload as well as to take screenshots for later reference. On March 1st, Tae will move into an unfurnished lot (I'm leaving the lighting and sauna), bringing with him anything he’s found, earned, crafted, or upgraded. After Tae buys the lot, I’ll cheat his funds to zero.

A night shot of the small sand-and-bamboo garden nestled between the front porch and the master bedroom’s veranda.

The spacious living room opens onto a veranda that overlooks a large rock garden. The veranda proceeds to an al fresco dining area connecting to a semi-open kitchen                                                                 .

Yes, we know: Nordhavn isn't  known for its warm climate but Tae will live here during spring and summer. We’re hoping the weather will cooperate!

The kitchen's larger than planned because I widened it to match the outdoor patio's width. That was the quickest solution.

Parallel-simverse Tae, relaxing on the veranda.

The Water Lily Patch thing is supposed to attract koi swimming around in the pond. Wait, is that a koi on the right? Nah, it’s only a rock.

The lot’s residential area will definitely include that sauna room and a hot tub area. I just can’t decide where to place them yet. For Tae, the lot comes with a sauna but not the hot tub.

A bird’s eye view of Tae’s small business. It's just a rectangle, just like the house. Merch display area in lower left. Employee "lounge" on the lower right. I'll be adding two more pottery wheels. “Mentoring” has been crossed off Tae's list of business activities because, in his own experience, Pottery and Flower Arranging max out too fast to be profitable. So he’ll charge an hourly fee and only offer classes in those two skills and, possibly, Research and Debate classes for aspiring university students.

The skill class area with the flower arranging area on the other side of the hanging-plant dividers.

I don't think I'll do much more to this lot, besides adding throw rugs here and there in the house's living room, using the same color palette. My builds never include much clutter; it's not the style of decor I grew up with.
I keep forgfetting that I still need to work on the house's yard and landscaping. Or maybe that's a task for "March me"?
