Auntie Wisdom

Winter 10, Wednesday (Feb 24)

Tae: Thanks for the invite, Auntie.

Megumi: Thanks so much for choosing Chez Llama for our brunch. I love that Japanese restaurant in Yukimatsu, but it’s great to have other cuisine for a change! (Chez Llama Refurb, created by maydussa)

Chez Llama requires formal dress and I’d arrived in a suit, but Auntie Megumi changed to her (unattractive) green kimono, so I feel obliged to change into my formal black kimono as well.

Tae: You invited me out to talk with me?

Megumi: Yes, Tae. First of all, let me say that I don’t normally approve of two teens living together “in sin,” but I trust you because I know about your rules.

T: Juwon blabbed to you about that? Uh, can we not have a talk about physical intimacy?

M: Juwon phoned me last night in tears, saying you’d asked him to be your roommate in Hordhaven. Apparently, he’d hoped to move in as your housemate.

T: Becoming housemates would be a bad move.

M: Why? Juwon worships the ground you walk on and I can see you care deeply about him, too. Why keep him at arm’s length?

M: Hey, wait a minute! Did you choose this restaurant because you’re collecting Experimental Food Photos?

T: Busted! But since you figured it out, would you mind letting me photograph your meal, too?

T: Back on topic, Juwon needs me and wants to be near me all the time.  I’ve never had anyone need me like that before.

M: But I…

T: No, no offense, but you’ve never needed nor wanted me. You have your husband and three children. You chose not to adopt me, taking me to Papa Caleb instead.

M: That wasn’t my fault! Brytani insisted you couldn’t be a part of her–and, by extension, my–social circles!

(Flashback right after Tae's birth)

Younger Brytani: No, you don’t understand! I’m young, female, and Asian. My budding career would never survive a love child scandal!

T: Fine, blame my mother. The fact remains that Papa Caleb never really wanted me, either. He only agreed because you begged him, but he’s never loved me. So  Juwon’s the first to truly, deeply love and need me. I’ve really craved that ever since learning about my family history.

M: So why won’t you let him into your heart?

T: First, swear that you will never share this secret with Juwon!.

M: Of course! Do you prefer a pinky-finger promise or blood oath?
T: Your word is fine. *rolls eyes

M: Well, don’t keep me in suspense!

T: After moving in April, Watcher has plans to match me with several other sims as prospective spouses. Now, if I hear you've told Juwon before I do, I’ll ghost you faster than you can blink an eye.

M: So, even if Juwon became your Nordhaven housemate, he'd still have to move out at the end of March.

T: Exactly. I can’t ask him to wait at home while I’m out getting my flirt on or whatever Watcher has planned for me. And if Juwon and I are housemates in Nordhaven for a month, it’ll be even harder for me to let him go.

M: Well, nobody can foretell where destiny might lead you between now and April 1st. You’ll just need to play it by ear.

M: Don’t look now, but that gorgeous waitress is totally checking you out.

T: As if my life weren’t complicated enough already! Even if it weren't, she's a young adult. (Super cute, tho')

T: Thanks for listening, Auntie Megumi. It feels good to have that off my chest!

M: That’s what I’m here for, Tae. You can always count one me to have your back.

T: I'm grateful you're in my corner! And now I must leave you to host a party!

M: See you again soon!
